Ten thousand illegal smokes seized from Thompson airport: Manitoba RCMP – Winnipeg

After a raid on a airplane Monday, Manitoba RCMP say they’ve taken 10,000 unlawful cigarettes off the streets.

Officers have been initially tipped off about cocaine being introduced onto a Lac Brochet-bound airplane on the Thompson Municipal Airport.

Whereas no cocaine was discovered, police turned up a number of cartons of unstamped cigarettes among the many belongings of three passengers.

The suspects, all from Lac Brochet, have been arrested on-scene.

Two males, 56 and 45, and a 27-year-old lady face a number of prices beneath the Legal Code and Excise Act and have been launched with an upcoming courtroom date.
