Man charged after woman lit on fire on Toronto bus in hate-motivated attack, police say

A 33-year-old man has been charged with tried homicide after a girl was lit on hearth on a Toronto public transit bus in what police are calling a hate-motivated assault.

The person, Tenzin Norbu, of Toronto, has additionally been charged with assault with a weapon, widespread nuisance and mischief. He appeared in a Toronto courtroom on Saturday. The case has been adjourned till Monday at 10 a.m.
