Instagram to scale back shopping features amid commerce retreat – report

(Reuters) – Meta Platforms Inc’s Instagram is planning to drastically cut back its buying options because it shifts the main focus of its e-commerce efforts to people who instantly drive promoting, the Info reported, citing an inner memo.

Employees have been notified that Instagram’s present buying web page will finally disappear, based on the report on Tuesday.

Over the subsequent few months Instagram will check an easier and fewer customized model of the buying web page recognized internally as “Tab Lite”, the Info reported.

The corporate would launch a public check, beginning Wednesday, on the modifications to its app designed to modify customers to the “Tab Lite” model of the buying web page, the report stated.
