Greater than 20 million tonnes of Ukrainian grain exports are being blocked by Russia within the Black Sea — a significant commerce route that provides thousands and thousands of individuals in North Africa and the Center East; many countries in these areas now face excessive meals shortages and potential famine.
We clarify how Ukraine, typically known as the “breadbasket of Europe,” is getting used as a chess piece within the conflict and what could be achieved to resolve this rising disaster.
