EU leaders endorse Croatia’s switch to euro currency

BRUSSELS (AP) — European Union leaders agreed Friday that Croatia will be part of the group of nations utilizing the euro, bringing the variety of nations sharing the foreign money to twenty beginning in January.

“The euro is the financial expression of our shared future and has been a part of our European dream,” stated EU Council President Charles Michel, who chaired a summit of bloc leaders in Brussels. “Now, the dream comes true for Croatia.”

Following talks with EU lawmakers and the European Central Financial institution, the method will conclude with the anticipated adoption in July of three authorized acts that may allow the swap.
