Canadian, Colombian and Chinese companies interested in Brookfield Brazilian transmission lines -report

SAO PAULO (Reuters) -No less than 5 teams are fascinated about buying transmission traces placed on the block by Canada’s Brookfield Asset Administration, Brazilian newspaper Valor Economico reported on Tuesday on its web site.

Colombia’s ISA, which controls Brazilian transmission firm CTEEP, and Grupo Energia Bogota have an interest within the property, the paper reported, citing individuals with data of the matter.

Canadian pension funds Ontario’s Lecturers Pension Fund (OTPP) and Caisse de Depot et Placement de Quebec (CDPQ), and China’s Southern Energy Grid additionally intend to ship proposals, the paper added.

Brookfield, ISA CTEEP and OTPP declined to remark. Grupo Energia Bogota, CPQD and China’s Southern Energy Grid didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.

Reuters reported in January that Brookfield had employed the funding banking models of Itau Unibanco Holding SA and Banco BTG Pactual SA to handle the sale.
