Baltic nations expel 10 Russian diplomats

VILNIUS (Reuters) -Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania have expelled a complete of 10 Russian diplomats, the overseas ministries of the three Baltic nations stated on Friday.

Lithuania expelled 4 diplomats whereas Latvia and Estonia every expelled three every.

“All ungrounded expulsions of Russian diplomats can be met with an acceptable reply,” stated Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian overseas ministry.

The diplomats had been expelled in a coordinated transfer “in reference to actions which are opposite to their diplomatic standing and making an allowance for ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine”, Latvian Overseas Minister Edgars Rinkevics tweeted.

Estonia’s overseas ministry stated it had expelled diplomats as a result of they “immediately and actively undermined Estonia’s safety and unfold propaganda justifying Russia’s navy motion”, its overseas ministry stated in a press release.

Lithuania stated its expulsions had been made “in solidarity with Ukraine”.
