Windsor cops charge two people in Ambassador Bridge blockade

Windsor police say they’ve charged two individuals they allege led a February truck convoy that blocked North America’s busiest worldwide land border crossing.

Police say the 41-year-old man and 42-year-old girl are alleged organizers of the dayslong convoy protest that stopped visitors on the Windsor facet of the Ambassador Bridge in early February.
They’ve each been charged with mischief.
Police say that on Feb. 9, officers noticed two automobiles drive into an intersection at Huron Church Rd. and Tecumseh Rd. W., about two kilometres instantly south of the bridge, which allegedly blocked all northbound visitors.
Investigators allege the drivers had been recognized as leaders of the convoy occasions.
Police cleared protesters and the bridge reopened on Feb. 13.
