WHL Roundup: Hurricanes head into playoffs with 3-2 overtime win over Hitmen

CALGARY – Alex Thacker scored 19 into additional time to present the Lethbridge Hurricanes a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Hitmen on the ultimate day of the WHL’s common season Sunday.
Jared Picklyk made 29 saves to for the Hurricanes (33-30-5) who will enter the playoffs because the Japanese Convention’s No. 7 seed, taking up the No. 2 Edmonton Oil Kings starting Thursday.
Riley Fiddler-Schultz scored a power-play marker for the Hitmen (25-34-9) at 18:27 of the second interval to tie the sport up at 2-2.
Calgary completed in eleventh place within the Japanese Convention with simply 59 factors and didn’t qualify for the playoffs.

REGINA — Connor Bedard loved a five-point sport as Regina (27-36-5) thumped Moose Jaw (37-24-7). Bedard scored his fiftieth and 51st targets of the marketing campaign as a part of his large outing. The Pats failed to succeed in the post-season, ending ninth within the East whereas the Warriors are the No. 4 seed and can open their first-round playoff sequence with the Saskatoon Blades on Friday.
