White House would like a consulate in East Jerusalem, adviser says
JERUSALEM (Reuters) – The White Home wish to see a U.S. consulate for the Palestinians open in east Jerusalem, Nationwide Safety Adviser Jake Sullivan mentioned on Wednesday as President Joe Biden made his option to the area.
“Our place is that we want a consulate in East Jerusalem. Clearly that requires engagement with the Israeli authorities. It requires engagement with the Palestinian management as properly. And we are going to proceed that engagement on this journey,” Sullivan advised reporters aboard Air Pressure 1.
