UK, U.S. and Canada left G20 meeting when Russia spoke, UK says

LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s delegation to a gathering of prime Group of 20 finance officers in Washington, together with Financial institution of England Governor Andrew Bailey, walked out in protest at Russia’s participation, a British finance ministry spokesperson mentioned on Wednesday.

“Alongside our allies the U.S. and Canada, representatives from the UK left the G20 assembly as Russian delegates spoke,” the spokesperson mentioned.

“We are going to proceed working with our allies to sentence Russia’s conflict in opposition to Ukraine within the strongest phrases, and push for stronger worldwide coordination to punish Russia,” the spokesperson added.
