UK blocks Chinese company from acquiring knowledge on vision sensing technology

LONDON (Reuters) – British enterprise minister Kwasi Kwarteng on Wednesday mentioned he had issued an order stopping the acquisition of mental property associated to imaginative and prescient sensing know-how by a Chinese language firm on nationwide safety grounds.

The order, issued beneath the Nationwide Safety and Funding Act, prevents Beijing Infinite Imaginative and prescient Know-how Co. from shopping for the mental property from the College of Manchester that will have allowed them to develop, check, manufacture, use and promote licenced merchandise.

“There may be potential that the know-how might be used to construct defence or technological capabilities which can current nationwide safety threat to the UK,” mentioned the order, revealed by the federal government.
