U.S. OKs China Eastern rerouting of New York-Shanghai flights
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Transportation Division on Friday authorised China Japanese Airways Corp’s request to let it lengthen the rerouting of New York-to-Shanghai flights, over COVID-19 measures, to a distinct Chinese language airport by Might 31.
The division beforehand granted China Japanese’s request to maneuver present twice-weekly Shanghai westbound passenger flights from New York to China’s Fuzhou Changle Worldwide Airport in Fujian province by the top of April.
China Japanese stated in a submitting with the U.S. authorities that, “as a consequence of evolving coronavirus pandemic management measures within the Shanghai area,” Chinese language aviation regulators had instructed it “to divert Shanghai-bound passenger flights arriving from the U.S. to sure alternate airports in China.”
