NEW YORK (Reuters) – Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s firm on Friday received a lawsuit in opposition to New York Metropolis over its cancellation of a golf course contract after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
The lawsuit filed final June mentioned the contract was improperly terminated by then-New York Metropolis Mayor Invoice De Blasio’s administration. The Trump Group has managed the Trump Golf Hyperlinks at Ferry Level within the Bronx borough because it opened in 2015.
In canceling the contract, the town mentioned Trump had a task in inciting the riot and that these actions compromised the golf course’s means to draw “first-class skilled championship golf tournaments.”
In a call filed on Friday in New York State Supreme Court docket in Manhattan, Justice Debra James wrote that the contract had no requirement that the golf course’s operator entice skilled golf tournaments. James vacated a metropolis ruling upholding the contract’s cancellation.
