Tour boat carrying 26 people missing, reported sinking off Japan’s northern coast

A tour boat with 26 folks aboard was lacking in tough and chilly waters off northern Japan on Saturday after issuing a misery name and reporting to be sinking, the coast guard mentioned.

No survivors have been discovered after greater than seven hours of an intense search involving six patrol boats and 4 plane.

The 17-tonne Kazu 1 made an emergency name, saying the ship’s bow had flooded and was starting to sink and tilt whereas it was travelling off the western coast of Shiretoko Peninsula, on the northern island of Hokkaido, the coast guard mentioned.

The tour boat has since misplaced contact, in line with the coast guard. It mentioned the boat was carrying 24 passengers, together with two kids, and two crew members.
