Teenagers bear sprayed in incident at Charlottetown gas station

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown Police Providers is investigating an incident at Sobeys Specific on Euston Avenue early on the morning of June 16 by which a number of youngsters had been sprayed with bear repellent.

Deputy police chief Jennifer McCarron informed SaltWire officers had been referred to as to the scene at 12:10 a.m. and located about 20 youngsters arguing with purchasers from the Neighborhood Outreach Centre.

“It was extra a battle between the youngsters who had been consuming and a few individuals who might frequent the outreach centre,’’ McCarron stated. “They bought into phrases, and one feminine in her 30s determined to (use) bear spray.”

McCarron stated 5 officers and Island EMS responded.

“We had an officer that was near the realm and noticed the children within the parking zone and heard the yelling band forth after which he attended. There was an altercation, and anyone took out the bear spray. That’s what we bought from witness statements.’’

The deputy chief stated the group of youngsters ranged in age from 17 to 21 years outdated.

McCarron stated nobody was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“EMS attended and helped them get the mace out of their eyes.’’

McCarron stated the entire youngsters are from the Queens County space. No arrests have been made, however McCarron will not be ruling it out.

The alleged feminine who sprayed the kids left the scene earlier than police arrived. Police have been taking a look at video to attempt to determine her.
