Technical problem forces IndiGo plane to land in Karachi

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – India’s greatest airline, IndiGo, stated on Sunday it had diverted a aircraft to Karachi in neighbouring Pakistan because of a “technical defect”, the second such incident for an Indian service involving an unscheduled touchdown in lower than two weeks.
The flight was meant to go to Sharjah within the United Arab Emirates from the southern metropolis of Hyderabad. It was not instantly clear when the incident occurred.
“IndiGo flight 6E-1406, working from Sharjah to Hyderabad was diverted to Karachi. The pilot noticed a technical defect,” IndiGo stated in a press release to the media.
“Mandatory procedures have been adopted and as a precaution the plane was diverted to Karachi.”
IndiGo was dispatching a further flight to Karachi to carry passengers again to Hyderabad, it stated.
SpiceJet stated on July 5 a Boeing 737 plane from New Delhi to Dubai made an emergency touchdown in Karachi because of a gas indicator gentle malfunctioning, prompting the airways watchdog to subject a warning discover.
