Christ Church to celebrate 176th anniversary in Cape Breton July 17

SYDNEY, N.S. — The oldest free-standing wood Anglican Church in Cape Breton will probably be celebrating its 176th anniversary on July 17.

In 1846, Christ Church was accomplished as a chapel then consecrated by the Bishop of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Hibbert Binney in 1855.

The Rector of the Anglican Collieries Parish, Reverend Dorothy Miller, will officiate the anniversary service, which is able to begin at 2 p.m.
