In his ongoing Spectral collection, Las Vegas-based photographer Cody Cobb tasks an ultraviolet gentle supply throughout desert shrubs and secluded, rocky coves, unveiling an invisible spectrum of blues and oranges. Lichens, fallen leaves, and the micro organism rising from lava tubes change into radiant lifeforms and rework places in Washington, Utah, California, and New Mexico into otherworldly landscapes.

Centered on natural matter like mineral deposits and vegetation, Cobb’s photographs expose what he describes as a “parallel world,” the place the UV gentle permits an extraterrestrial eeriness to emerge. “As a result of I would like such low ambient gentle ranges for the fluorescence to point out up within the exposures, I’m out making these at very odd hours of the night time,” he says. “There’s such an odd dreaminess to exploring unusual lands alone and at nighttime.”

Cobb plans to point out Spectral subsequent 12 months at Marshall Gallery in Santa Monica. Till then, browse choose prints in his shop, and discover extra of the collection on his web site and Instagram.
