Men Panthers win third straight game on basketball court

WOLFVILLE, N.S. — The UPEI Panthers made it three wins in a row to start out the 2022-23 Atlantic College Sport (AUS) males’s basketball season 3-0 (won-lost).
After sweeping the Cape Breton Capers at residence on Oct. 28 and 29, the Panthers defeated the host Acadia Axemen 90-74 on Nov. 5.
Elijah Miller poured in a game-high 31 factors to guide the Panthers, who constructed a 46-31 lead at halftime. Abilash Surendran (18) and Dakelle Brooks (17) have been UPEI’s different main scorers.
Miguel Perez Boskovic (18), Thomas MacDonald (14) and Demeric Mercer (13) have been the highest point-getters for Acadia (0-3).
The Panthers and Acadia closed out a two-game weekend sequence in Wolfville, N.S., on Nov. 6. UPEI hosts the St. Francis Xavier X-Males (3-0) on Nov. 11 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 12 at 4 p.m.

Ladies
In ladies’s play Nov. 5, the Acadia Axewomen improved to 3-0 with a 63-55 choice over the Panthers (2-1).
Haley MacDonald (12), Elizabeth Iseyemi (12), who hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds, and Sarah Delorey (10) paced Acadia’s offence.
Lauren Rainford of the Panthers led all scorers with 23 factors. Devon Lawlor added 9 and Sydney Cummins had seven.
The groups additionally performed at Acadia on Nov. 6. UPEI returns to the Chi-Wan Younger Sports activities Centre to entertain St. Francis Xavier (0-3) on Nov. 11 at 6 p.m., and Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.
