Surroundings Canada has issued a snowfall warning for elements of Freeway 3 in B.C.’s Southern Inside.
The warning stretches from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Go, and contains the Boundary, West Kootenay and Kootenay Lake areas.
The nationwide climate company is forecasting snowfall quantities of 15 cm by Saturday night.
“A vigorous system transferring throughout inside B.C. will unfold snow to excessive elevation freeway passes at present,” Surroundings Canada stated Saturday morning.
“Snow accumulations will range dramatically with elevation alongside the route. Decrease elevations will see snow altering to rain this afternoon.”
Nevertheless, it added that close to Paulson Summit and Kootenay Go, intervals of snow will intensify to heavy snow on Saturday afternoon, with as much as 15 cm anticipated earlier than it begins easing within the night.
