S.Korea’s Moon urges N.Korea’s Kim to commit to inter-Korea talks under new leader
SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea’s outgoing President Moon Jae-in has requested North Korean chief Kim Jong Un to remain dedicated to inter-Korean cooperation, saying restarting dialogue was now as much as the incoming authorities of Yoon Suk-yeol, Moon’s spokeswoman mentioned on Friday.
Moon despatched a letter to Kim, his final as president to the North Korean chief, during which he mentioned the “period of confrontation” needs to be overcome with dialogue, and expressed hope for a swift restart of denuclearisation talks between Pyongyang and Washington, spokeswoman Park Kyung-mee instructed a briefing.
