Nigerian man burned to death after argument with Muslim cleric

ABUJA (Reuters) – A Nigerian man was burned to dying by a mob within the capital Abuja on Saturday following an argument with a Muslim cleric, police stated.

Josephine Adeh, police spokesperson for Abuja, stated Ahmad Usman had an argument with an unidentified cleric, which turned violent. Police who arrived on the scene took him to hospital the place he was declared lifeless on arrival.

“The heated argument degenerated into an outbreak of violence that led to the homicide and setting ablaze of Ahmad Usman by the enraged mob mobilized by the clergy numbering about 200,” the police spokesman for Abuja stated.

Final month, a feminine faculty pupil was overwhelmed to dying and set on fireplace by fellow college students who stated she had posted “blasphemous” statements in a pupil Whatsapp group. Two college students have appeared in court docket over the matter.
