Red Cross has distributed $27 million in Fiona donations, most to Nova Scotia, P.E.I.

The Canadian Crimson Cross says many of the $30.9 million obtained in donations for Canadians affected by post-tropical storm Fiona has been distributed in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Spokesman Dan Bedell mentioned in an e-mail that as of Thursday, the company had distributed greater than 54,000 funds of $500 to registered households throughout Japanese Canada, for a complete of about $27.3 million.

The majority of the recipients had been in Prince Edward Island, with 26,500 households, and in Nova Scotia, the place practically 22,000 households obtained money.
Bedell says $500 funds additionally went to 317 households in southwestern Newfoundland and 47 households in New Brunswick and Quebec.
He says practically 6,000 households in Nova Scotia, P.E.I. and Newfoundland obtained a second $500 cost due to “distinctive or distinctive wants.”
Bedell says the Crimson Cross is just not monitoring the origin of donations by province, and he says all donations for Fiona reduction are pooled to assist individuals affected throughout Japanese Canada.
