Protester painted in Ukraine colors ejected from Cannes red carpet

CANNES, France (Reuters) – The Ukraine disaster grabbed the highlight in Cannes on Friday as a semi-naked protester painted in blue and yellow was ejected from the pink carpet.

The unidentified lady ripped off her robe revealing the Ukrainian flag colors, with the phrases “STOP RAPING US” emblazoned on her stomach and pink handprints on her buttocks.

The girl shouted and safety officers rapidly wrapped her in a jacket, eradicating her from the occasion. Company appeared bemused and the swinging pageant music performed on.

The transient protest happened on the world premiere of “Three Thousand Years of Longing”, with stars Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton poised to reach and stroll the well-known steps of the Palais des Festivals.
