P.E.I. to spend over $243,000 on projects empowering Island women

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — P.E.I. is earmarking over $243,000 in grants to be shared between 11 organizations working to assist empower Island ladies and ladies.

The Interministerial Girls’s Secretariat Grant will likely be used to boost Island-based companies and packages which help consciousness, schooling and social motion on ladies’s authorized, well being, social and financial equality.

Receiving nearly all of the funds, Steam P.E.I. will see $30,000 to help their P.E.I. Women GET Math Program which promotes constructive math messaging for Island ladies and builds expertise by day by day actions.

Girls’s Community P.E.I. will get $26,730 to advertise ladies and gender-diverse Islanders as change makers by highlighting 40 years of neighborhood activism with a give attention to advocates who’re BIPOC, rural, residing with incapacity and 2SLGBTQIA+.
