P.E.I. RCMP arrest boater for allegedly refusing breath sample in Cornwall

CORNWALL, P.E.I. — A 52-year-old man was arrested throughout a police boating operation throughout the Labour Day weekend close to Cornwall.

On Sept. 4, shortly after 5 p.m., officers stopped a gaggle of small boats for a routine security inspection whereas patrolling on West River, close to Cornwall, RCMP stated.

Throughout the test, police stated officers observed that one of many vessel operators was displaying indicators of impairment.

Police stated the operator of the vessel, a 52-year-old man from Queens County, refused to supply a breath pattern for testing and was subsequently arrested. 

He was detained and delivered to shore and was later launched pending a future court docket look. 

Police organized for the vessel to be safely transported to shore.
