P.E.I. police cracking down on impaired drivers with more checks
CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Officers from Charlottetown Police Companies and the RCMP carried out a visitors cease on Belvedere Avenue on March 24 to test for impaired driving and educate drivers on the perils of driving whereas impaired.
It’s a part of an ongoing visitors blitz that began two months in the past throughout P.E.I. that has included police forces from Charlottetown, Summerside and Kensington, in addition to RCMP, provincial conservation officers and the Division of Highways.
Charlottetown Police Companies Const. Tim Keizer instructed SaltWire Community that instances of impaired driving within the province are on the rise as are the variety of calls coming into the 911 system reporting impaired drivers.
