P.E.I. declares one-time provincial statutory holiday in recognition of the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Sept. 19

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The P.E.I. authorities has introduced Monday, Sept. 19 will probably be a one-time statutory vacation in recognition of the dying of Queen Elizabeth II. 

The province introduced Tuesday that colleges, authorities places of work and faculty board places of work will probably be closed for the vacation. 

The provincial announcement comes after the federal authorities declared a nationwide vacation coinciding with the Queen’s funeral on Sept. 19.

Moreover, an official Commemorative Ceremony will probably be held at St. Peter’s Cathedral Church in Charlottetown at 2 p.m. Because of restricted house, the official ceremony will probably be by invitation solely however will probably be livestreamed and accessible on provincial authorities channels.
