Over 9,000 voters cast ballots on second day of advance polling in P.E.I. election

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — 1000’s of voters turned out for the second day of advance polling within the 2023 P.E.I. normal election.

The second day of advance voting started at 9 a.m. and clewed up at 7 p.m. Monday, March 27, with 9,373 voters casting their ballots.

Of 105,446 registered voters, 8.89 per cent voted on Monday.

Voting ran easily apart from a short energy interruption in Kings County, affecting polling areas in District 3 and District 4.

Elections P.E.I. stated ballot staff acted shortly and switched to battery backup to maintain the advance vote persevering with as scheduled, leading to little to no disruptions in voting at these polls.

Energy was restored totally by 11:35 a.m.

There’s yet one more advance polling day, Friday, March 31, from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m.
