Over 200 mostly Guatemalan migrants found in Mexican warehouse

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexican safety officers detained greater than 200 largely Guatemalan migrants at a warehouse in central Mexico who have been ready to be smuggled northward, the federal government stated on Sunday.

Mexico’s Nationwide Migration Institute (INM) stated there have been 225 migrants found in a single day in a warehouse in Jilotepec within the state of Mexico, 194 of whom have been Guatemalans. There have been additionally 14 Hondurans, 9 Nicaraguans, 5 Cubans and three El Salvadorans, the INM stated.

The federal government of the state of Mexico, which surrounds most of Mexico Metropolis, stated in a separate assertion that 248 migrants have been discovered within the warehouse. An INM spokesperson couldn’t instantly clarify the discrepancy between the 2 figures.
