No known injuries after fire forces evacuation of N.S.-P.E.I. ferry
A number of individuals have been evacuated from a ferry travelling between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island after the vessel caught on fireplace.
Northumberland Ferries’ Don Cormier stated that the fireplace has been extinguished and a managed evacuation is underway.
Please be suggested that each one remaining Northumberland Ferries departures are cancelled for Friday, July 22, attributable to an emergency with MV Vacation Island. At the moment we’re safely evacuating passengers and crew and there are not any identified accidents. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The vessel operates between Wooden Islands, P.E.I., and Caribou, N.S.
Northumberland Ferries’ Lucy Martin stated the remainder of the day’s crossings have been cancelled.

The terminal is at the moment closed. Members of the general public are requested to keep away from the world to permit first responders to do their work.
