New York man sentenced to 15 years in prison for support to Islamic State

(Reuters) – A Uzbekistan citizen who’s a resident of New York Metropolis who was convicted of conspiring to and making an attempt to supply materials help to Islamic State was sentenced to fifteen years in jail on Friday, the U.S. Justice Division mentioned.
Dilkhayot Kasimov, 34, was convicted of each counts following a trial in 2019. He was charged in 2015.
“Kasimov is an ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) supporter who collected and gave cash to a different particular person to fund his journey to hitch the terrorist group. With this sentence, Kasimov is being held accountable for his crimes,” Matthew Olsen, assistant lawyer basic for nationwide safety, mentioned in an announcement.
