Two new trustees have been elected to fill the vacant spots on the Public Colleges Department and French language college boards.
André Doucette has been elected for the Fee scolaire de langue française (CSLF) Zone 2 by acclamation to the one trustee emptiness.
Jocelyne Ludgate has been elected for the Public Colleges Department (PSB) Zone 7 following the cancellation of the byelection that was scheduled to be held this fall.
“Whereas two candidates have been operating for the PSB Zone 7 trustee place, one of many candidates withdrew from the byelection, forcing the cancellation of the byelection,” stated P.E.I. chief electoral officer Tim Garrity.
“The remaining candidate, Jocelyne Ludgate, is said elected for the PSB Zone 7.”
The 2 might be filling in for the positions of CSLF trustee Tammy Shields and PSB trustee Patty van Diepen, who resigned final Could.
“I’m assured that each André and Jocelyne will function sturdy advocates for college kids, lecturers, mother and father and their college communities,” stated Training Minister Natalie Jameson.
“Their voices will play a pivotal position in shaping the way forward for training in our province.”
