Musician ‘shocked’ to receive racial slur from child at P.E.I. hotel

A P.E.I. musician is spreading consciousness concerning the hurtful affect of a racial slur used towards her at a Charlottetown lodge just lately.

Kierrah Titus was attending a music convention on the lodge when she stated a boy who about 10-years-old known as her the N-word in entrance of a few dozen folks.

“I used to be shocked as a result of it was a baby. And I feel it is stunning to listen to one thing like that come from a baby as a result of clearly, like, it comes from someplace just like the baby was taught to say that from someplace, acquired that from someplace,” she stated.

Titus reported the incident to the lodge and has since gone to social media to share her story. Her submit says the dad and mom had been insensitive and did not take accountability.

Though the kid did finally apologize, she stated she could not settle for it, saying some issues are unforgivable.

“I feel what folks can study from me sharing that is you could be conscious of your phrases. Saying hurtful and imply issues shouldn’t be OK, particularly in 2022.”

Resort employees confirmed to CBC that the kid was staying on the lodge as a part of a hockey event.

The lodge stated the incident was dropped at the eye of the dad and mom and coaches concerned.
