Mexico’s Pemex says fire under control at Salina Cruz refinery

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Mexican state oil firm Pemex stated on Saturday that it had introduced below management a fireplace at its Salina Cruz refinery within the southern Oaxaca state with none accidents to personnel.

The hearth, which began on Friday, had engulfed a gasoline storage tank, sending a dense plume of black smoke billowing from contained in the refinery.

Pemex stated firefighters had “concluded the work of suffocation and cooling” of the tank.

In August, the Salina Cruz refinery was hit by one other fireplace.
