Mexico’s environment ministry denies permit for Audi solar plant

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Mexico’s setting ministry mentioned on Friday it rejected a key environmental allow for a solar energy plant that German automaker Audi has proposed to construct at its manufacturing facility within the central Mexican state of Puebla.
Audi’s proposed environmental influence assertion for the photovoltaic energy plant, despatched to officers in late Could, was denied as a result of it requires a regional evaluation given extra electrical infrastructure that shall be wanted, the ministry mentioned in a short assertion.

The ministry added it can consider any new environmental influence assertion for the photo voltaic plant that Audi submits.

Audi Mexico mentioned the photo voltaic panels it hoped to construct had been meant for self-consumption solely and can be used “completely to hold out a part of the ability consumption that allow the worldwide manufacturing of the Audi Q5.”
