Mass grave of more than 440 bodies found in Izium, Ukraine -police

(Reuters) -Ukrainian authorities have discovered a mass grave of greater than 440 our bodies within the jap metropolis of Izium that was recaptured from Russian forces, a regional police official stated on Thursday, including a few of the folks had been killed by shelling and air strikes.
Serhiy Bolvinov, the chief police investigator for Kharkiv area, advised Sky Information that forensic investigations could be carried out on each physique.
“I can say it is likely one of the largest burial websites in a giant city in liberated (areas)… 440 our bodies have been buried in a single place,” Bolvinov stated.
“Some died due to artillery fireplace … some died due to air strikes,” he stated. 1000’s of Russian troops fled Izium on the weekend.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy put the blame on Russia and likened the invention to what occurred in Bucha, on the outskirts of the capital Kyiv within the early phases of the late February invasion by Russian forces. Ukraine and its Western allies have accused the Russian forces of perpetrating warfare crimes there.
“Russia is leaving dying behind it in all places and have to be held accountable,” Zelenskiy stated in a video handle.
Russia has repeatedly denied it targets civilians or has dedicated warfare crimes.
