MAGA Republican actions fit ‘definition of fascism,’ White House says

(Reuters) – The actions of some Republicans allied to former President Donald Trump match the definition of fascism, White Home spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre informed reporters on Friday, a day after President Joe Biden mentioned they edged towards “semi-fascism.”

“I used to be very clear when laying out and defining what MAGA Republicans have accomplished and also you have a look at the definition of fascism and you concentrate on what they’re doing in attacking our democracy. … That’s what that’s. It is rather clear,” Jean-Pierre informed a press briefing.

MAGA refers to Trump’s “Make America Nice Once more” slogan. Fascism is a political philosophy that exalts nation and sometimes race above the person and helps an autocratic authorities led by a dictatorial chief involving the pressured suppression of opposition, U.S. dictionary Merriam-Webster says.

In response to Biden’s Thursday night feedback that Trump-allied Republicans embraced violence and hatred, and edged towards “semi-fascism,” the Republican Nationwide Committee referred to as the remarks “despicable.”

“Biden pressured People out of their jobs, transferred cash from working households to Harvard legal professionals, and despatched our nation right into a recession whereas households cannot afford gasoline and groceries,” spokesperson Nathan Model mentioned.
