Arthur Model, a Dutch artwork historian often called the “Indiana Jones of Artwork” for his work as an artwork crime investigator, recovered historical Catholic relics this week when the items have been left on his doorstep.
The relics, lead vials often called the Valuable Blood of Chris, have been stolen in early June from the Fécamp Abbey Church in Normandy, France, the place they’d been housed for the final 1,000 years. The vials are mentioned to comprise drops of the blood of Jesus Christ, taken when he was hanging on the cross.
