Guelph Mayor Cam Guthrie officially registers for re-election bid – Guelph

Guelph Mayor Cam Guthrie has formally registered to run for re-election within the upcoming municipal election.
In a tweet on Tuesday afternoon, Guthrie shared a photograph of his registration papers and stated he’s humbled and honoured to signify Guelph.

“Wanting forward, particularly after a troublesome couple of years, I’m hoping to proceed making our metropolis one of the best it may be alongside each citizen and enterprise that’s right here,” Guthrie tweeted.
Guthrie is in search of his third time period as mayor, having been first elected to the highest seat on metropolis council in 2014. Previous to that, he represented Ward 4 for 4 years.
In 2014, Guthrie defeated incumbent mayor Karen Farbridge by almost 5,500 votes. In 2018, Guthrie was re-elected with over 66 per cent of the ballots towards just one different opponent.
Guelphites are scheduled to go to the polls on Oct. 24. Advance polls in Guelph will run Oct. 8 to 10 and Oct. 14 to 18. Voting by mail may also be accessible.
