Four people injured after apparent lightning strike near White House

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -4 folks have been in important situation on Thursday after an obvious lightning strike at Washington’s Lafayette Sq. adjoining to the White Home grounds, fireplace officers mentioned.

The injured – two grownup males and two grownup females – have been transported to space hospitals with life-threatening accidents, D.C. Hearth and EMS, the company that handles fireplace and different emergencies within the U.S. capital, mentioned in a Twitter message.

Lafayette Sq., a seven-acre public park that lies instantly north of the White Home, is usually crowded with guests, particularly in the summertime months.

Temperatures in Washington exceeded 90 levels Fahrenheit (32.2 levels Celsius) on Thursday, though, with the excessive humidity, the warmth felt like greater than 100F, forecasters mentioned. A violent thunderstorm swept via the capital late within the day.
