First rock climbing festival held at Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park – Okanagan

Rock climbers at Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park, in Penticton, B.C, raised cash for his or her Park Watch Program, throughout a two-day competition stuffed with video games, climbing, and leisure.

This was the first-ever Skaha Climbers Competition and it turned out to be a well-liked affair.

Previously, climbers on the bluffs had plenty of points with theft and car break-ins. This program, which Rybak says has been an enormous success, employs folks with incapacity boundaries who can watch the park for any suspicious exercise and report it instantly if wanted.

“We initiated the park watch program with Penticton Space Co-operative Enterprises and employed folks with boundaries. And since then we’ve had one break-in on this park and the large profit is we’ve built-in folks with boundaries into our neighborhood and provided 1000’s of hours of employment for them,” stated Rybak.

“After we had the break-ins we misplaced tourism visits by over 40 per cent.”

This competition can be anticipated to spice up tourism within the Okanagan-Similkameen space, because it invitations climbers from internationally.
