Exclusive-BNP Paribas’ global head of prime services reverses decision to quit

LONDON (Reuters) – BNP Paribas’ international head of prime companies Ashley Wilson has reversed a call to depart the financial institution and can now keep, two sources with data of the matter advised Reuters on Thursday.

A spokesperson for BNP Paribas confirmed the information, however didn’t touch upon the rationale for the turnaround.

Wilson, who didn’t reply to requests for touch upon social media or his work e-mail handle, moved to the French lender from Deutsche Financial institution in June 2021.

He had been set to depart the financial institution in July, Reuters reported on the time, and the financial institution subsequently confirmed.

Wilson’s departure would have marked a high-profile loss for the enterprise, which primarily serves hedge funds, and which BNP Paribas had been constructing out since 2019 when it agreed to accumulate the prime finance enterprise of Deutsche Financial institution.

Wilson and his staff labored on finishing the mixing of these companies, BNP Paribas mentioned in its July assertion about his departure.
