A choice of latest work by Leipzig, Germany-based artist Ellen Akimoto. Predominantly taking the type of figurative portray, her work seeks to depict complexity and ambiguity in our environment and social selves. Her course of brings collectively portray and digital collage, that includes primarily human (and generally animal) protagonists and inside areas which can be composed and offered in ways in which reveal their clearly constructed nature. 

“My purpose is to make pictures that don’t supply a constant, unified world, however moderately one that’s sophisticated by contradictions and allusions to different potentialities,” she explains. “A picture that irritates by breaking with our expectations can maintain us in a state of ambivalence, accompanied by a way of uncanniness or ‘wrongness’, which, at its greatest, suggests the reorderability of our methods of perceiving. It’s this uncanny feeling that I attempt to get to in each picture.
