Disney picks Kristen Finney to lead international content curation

(Reuters) – Walt Disney Co stated on Wednesday Kristen Finney will lead content material curation for the media big’s worldwide division that’s pushing to make extra regional content material for streaming.

As govt vice chairman, Finney will work on constructing a group to trace and consider “content material wants and appropriateness for Disney+ and Star/Star+”, the corporate stated in an announcement.

The worldwide content material and operations group is run by Rebecca Campbell, who took up the position in January.

The hub was created to gas the expansion of Disney+, Hulu and Star+ as Disney ramped up funding in native content material, mirroring Netflix’s technique.
