A collection of current work from artist Danny Ferrell’s (beforehand featured right here) current solo exhibition, “Citadel within the Sky,” at Miles McEnery Gallery in New York. That includes likenesses of his mates and friends, Ferrell’s colourful portraits are representations of “intimate daydreams.” He makes use of a heat, saturated coloration palette to speak the sensitivity and power of his muses, embodying their essences in vibrant element.

Whereas being a homosexual man performs its half tremendously in Ferrell’s work, finally, he explains: “These are my mates and folks that I’ve an emotional resonance with. I need to put constructive pictures of homosexual males and queer figuring out people into the world, so we are able to diversify the customarily tragic canon of LGBTQ movie and artwork.” Describing himself as “humbled by the ineffable cosmic hand that imbues our world with magic,” Ferrell’s reverence is mirrored all through his work, revealing a quiet affection for his sitters via the act of portraiture.
