Crown and defence counsel have completed calling proof within the B.C. Supreme Courtroom trial for the Dutch man accused of harassing and extorting teenager Amanda Todd earlier than she died a decade in the past.

Aydin Coban pleaded not responsible on the jury trial in New Westminster, B.C., to fees of extortion, harassment, communication with a teen to commit a sexual offence and possessing little one pornography.

Crown prosecutor Kristen LeNoble started closing arguments by telling jurors she would spend the following few days serving to them “unpack” the proof, together with testimony from greater than 30 witnesses and binders stuffed with 80 displays.

By the point the Crown is completed, LeNoble stated, they are going to have confirmed past an affordable doubt that Coban was the individual behind 22 separate on-line aliases used to harass and extort Todd with little one pornography that depicted her.

LeNoble stated Todd’s harassment started simply earlier than her thirteenth birthday when she obtained a message that threatened to ship a video of her to pals, household and native media.

Crown prosecutor Louise Kenworthy instructed the jury at first of the trial final month {the teenager} from Port Coquitlam, B.C., had been the sufferer of a persistent marketing campaign of on-line “sextortion” over three years earlier than her dying in October 2012.

Carol Todd testified that her daughter was scared when she introduced messages to her mom’s consideration, and Amanda’s misery elevated with every incident.
