Commercial flock in Saskatchewan, 2 backyard flocks in B.C. have avian flu: CFIA

The most recent Saskatchewan outbreak is in a business flock within the Rural Municipality of Baildon, south of Moose Jaw.
The Canadian Meals Inspection Company says avian flu has been discovered on three extra farms in Western Canada — two in British Columbia and one in Saskatchewan.
An announcement from the company says the H5N1 pressure of extremely pathogenic avian influenza was recognized in all three flocks on Wednesday.
It says the Saskatchewan outbreak is in a business flock within the Rural Municipality of Baildon, south of Moose Jaw.
The B.C. outbreaks contain small, yard flocks within the north Okanagan and within the central Okanagan.
All three farms have been quarantined and federal and provincial officers are taking different mandatory measures to regulate the unfold of the extraordinarily infectious sickness.
The CFIA has stated the worldwide outbreak of avian flu is probably going being unfold by contact between wild migrating birds and farmed flocks.
Instances in Canada have been reported in each province besides Prince Edward Island.
