“Velleity” by Photographer Yiyun Chen

An experimental set up by Cleveland, Ohio-based photographer Yiyun Chen. Introduced alongside rows of cabinets on the gallery wall along with a companion photobook, “Velleity” explores the method of self-reflection and self-discovery. The meditative venture is the results of a private train — strolling and photographing — repurposed into an set up piece:

“It visualizes the expertise of an individual navigating completely different cultures, social expectations, realities, and ponders my displacement previously and current, resulting in moments of isolation and a wrestle to speak. The photobook, with its ordered photos and textual references, develops the idea of the photographs and textual content as a coded language to explain the seemingly unexceptional moments of on a regular basis life.”
